Hi everyone! This new Facebook feature might be liked by a lot of people but personally I don't want my location or even presence in some places to be discovered by strangers. Can I prevent this somehow from happening? |
Find Friends Nearby (or simply FFN) is a new feature from Facebook that allows anyone to connect with other people in some radius around you (though the width of this radius is undisclosed). When you are at specific Find Friends Nearby page, you can see other people in some radius around you and invite them to join you or your other apps which, bythe way, might be very creepy. As long as Find Friends Nearby is using GPS satellites to find people around you and to notify them about you being in their vicinity, it is still unknown what privacy settings are available within this app. It can possibly be that there would be no privacy settings at all and you would be left to what Facebook will set by default. Yet you can block Find Friends Nearby and be sure that your location will not be exposed in places you would like to stay incognito, and your privacy will be reliably protected at all personal meetings you have. |
